Employment Assistance (EA) is provided to a member receiving Medically Dependent Children Program (MDCP) services to help the individual locate paid employment in the community and includes:
Identifying employment preferences, job skills, and requirements for a work
Locating prospective employers offering employment compatible with the client's preferences, skills and requirements
Contacting a prospective employer on behalf the client and negotiating employment
Assist in collecting necessary documents and completing employment paperwork for the client
Assist in planning transportation to be self sufficient, such as a bus route or other dependable means
The employer can be provided additional assistance to help train new employees. A Job Coach will be assigned to help review the responsibilities of the new employee and help to instruct the new employee at the workplace, at no cost to the employer. A Vocational Support Specialist will follow up to make sure additional training is offered as needed to help support long term employment.
 Each student is different and learns in their own way; we will find the strategies that work best for each individual. We offer flexible payment options, including insurance coverage and out-of-pocket expenses, with a sliding scale discount based on income to ensure accessibility for all families.
